► xehanort hiruma ► anotherseeker► character: another ► class: long arm+ ► age: 17 A mysterious player. His character has all kinds of nifty tricks that he says he won in promotional events, but in truth, he hacked his character's code in order to tailor its skills to his liking. He is a highly advanced hacker seeking information about Vagrant AIs with a small circle of like-minded peers. He created the Recusant Virus that was responsible for the suspension of the Kazue siblings' accounts. He is also an email correspondent of Xion's... But she doesn't know that he's the one who holds the answers she's seeking. He chose his character name because it sounds mysterious and it's an anagram of his real world name. |
► ► daegesege► character: aster ► class: twin blade ► age: 16 (17 in summer) A once-athletic girl who lost her best friends as well as the use of her legs in a car crash. Following the wreck, she suffers greatly from survivor's guilt. Due to her depression and new distrust of vehicles, she has opted to be house-ridden, and as such is now homeschooled by her mother. She didn't use to play the World much, but has picked it up to pass the time... and because it's something she has left of Roxas and Axel. Her character has been temporarily suspended by CC Corp so they can investigate the virus that recently attacked her account. Not wanting her to lose the only social outlet she chose to keep, Sora lends his character to her so she can still play in the meantime. When his account is suspended, too, Xion comes to life again, and vows to find the reasons behind the virus. She chose her character name because it is a pun off her real world name. |

► "xigbar" (braig nakagawa) ► character: targetlock ► class: wavemaster+ ► age: 22 Xehanort's second-in-command and probably the only person who really knows him and what he's actually after. While Xehanort is technically in charge of their circle of hackers, he tends to delegate chores to Xigbar to relay to the others in order to prevent direct associations with himself. If one wishes to speak with Xehanort, one will most likely need to go through him first. Xigbar is also the group's advance scout, and has a high reputation as an information specialist. Xigbar's character has been heavily modified so that it seems as though he fires off "bullets" of spells rather than casting them. Somehow, this hasn't been detected yet... His character name is based on his real-life passion for firearms and status as an award-winning sharpshooter. |

► "saïx" (isa furugawa) ► character: tsukuyomi ► class: heavy blade+ ► age: 19 Airi's older brother and Axel's childhood friend. He was introduced to Xehanort's quest through Axel, and he joined willingly because his curiousity got the best of him. After Axel's death, he has devoted himself wholeheartedly to the cause partly because he doesn't know what else to do, and partly in an odd way to honor his friend's memory. The role he plays in Xehanort's group would not seem obvious to the outside world, but in the real world, he has family that works in the higher branches of CC Corp, making him the group's "inside agent." He is also the one who goes behind the scenes, both in-game and in the real world, to cleans up the group's messes and erase their tracks. He chose his character name after the Japanese lunar deity, in honor of his family's Shinto beliefs. |

► "demyx" (myde tanabe) ► character: vilayat ► class: wavemaster ► age: 18 A friend of Axel and Xigbar's. Despite all appearances otherwise, Demyx is surprisingly highly skilled at his class, and secretly has a reputation of being a Player Killer. He is also a hacker, but it has everything to do with the fact that he's lazy. Sometimes, he just can't be bothered to get a rare item the hard way, and since to him grinding levels isn't what a game is about... Okay, so not all of those levels he has were hard-earned, so what? He just wants to sit around and look cool, haters to the left. He chose his character name in honor of a famous sitar maestro, Ustad Vilayat Khan. |
PERIPHERY CHARACTERS
► sora kazue ► sirgawaine► character: sir gawaine ► class: blademaster ► age: 18 An energetic boy who likes to play the World with his best friends. After his younger sister, Xion, emerged the only survivor of a car crash that took the lives of her two best friends, he has been trying very hard to brighten her day. He tells her about school gossip, what the weather is like, and is always smiling around her. He hides away his concern about her, only letting it occasionally slip to his friends Riku, Kairi, and Naminé. He lent Xion his character so she could play during the days when he's at school. Neither of them expected for his account to be suspended, too. Though he's disappointed, he's tried to assure Xion that it isn't her fault and that he doesn't see it as a big deal. Despite these attempts, it seems like, to him, she treats this odd quest as her life goal. He chose his character name because he wants to be a knight. |
► ► kingcheckers► character: king checkers ► class: blademaster ► age: 17 One of Xion's close friends who died in the car crash. He was the one who got Xion into soccer, a sport he played with some neighborhood kids (Hayner, Pence, and Olette were his constant teammates) before he moved to her town. Roxas first started playing the World in order to keep in contact with his old friends. It's also because of Axel and Roxas that Xion picked up the World. The two boys played the game together, and after some wheedling Xion was convinced to join, too. She didn't play often, though, occasionally logging in to help them with a dungeon. As a sign of trust, Axel, Roxas, and Xion exchanged passwords. Xion only signed onto their accounts after Sora's character was suspended. If she's going to find the truth, she has to be in the game, and this is the only way she knows how to get back in. He chose his character name because he has a black and white cat named Checkers who acted like a king. |
► "axel" (lea okudara) ► hazardgear► character: ► class: heavy blade+ ► age: 20 One of Xion's close friends who died in the car crash. Lea met the kids when he and his childhood friend Isa chased off some punks who cornered them after school. Lea was always advanced for his grade, and so to amuse himself in his spare time, he took up hacking. It came to him surprisingly naturally, so it's no surprise that he souped up his character in the World. It was these skills that caught the attention of Xehanort, and in time, Lea and Isa joined his little circle that sought "the truths" behind the World. As a sign of trust, Lea, Roxas, and Xion exchanged passwords, and Lea told them his hacker code name without explaining what it is. Xion only signed onto their accounts after Sora's character was suspended. If she's going to find the truth, she has to be in the game, and this is the only way she knows how to get back in. He chose his character name because it is a joke about normal usernames in other online platforms. His true character's name, though, comes from his friendship with Roxas and Xion. |
► airi furugawa ► inaquate► character: aqua ► class: long arm ► age: 17 Isa's younger sister and the first of the Disciples of Eraqus. She originally partied with him for an event, and after it, she wanted to keep playing with him. She is the one who encouraged Eraqus to also begin teaching Eita his ways. She originally picked up the World to have something to do in the evenings, and never expected for it to grow to mean so much to her as it did, as it is there that she met her mentor and her best friends. She meets Xion when she is feeling depressed, and she invites her to come party with her. After becoming friends, she then suggests that they meet in person, and she slowly becomes Xion's one and only true confidant. In real life, she lives with her grandmother. She is responsible enough that she could have gotten permission to get a part-time job, but decided against it so that she can stay home and help look after her grandma. She plans for settling down and having a family of her own one day; she knows that she gets the most satisfaction out of taking care of those she loves for, and many of her talents lend themselves to homemaking. This, along with her kind temperament, makes her very popular at school, making her the sempai that the younger students hope will notice them, but she seems to be oblivious to her fame. However, she has surprisingly high standards for her future partner, and as such hasn't had a boyfriend yet. |
► eita tsuchiya ► caput_mortum► character: terra ► class: heavy blade ► age: 18 The second of the Disciples of Eraqus. He was originally a Player Killer, as he would log in and take his frustrations out on people. He attempted to PK Eiri when she reached a Gott Statue before him. She was skilled enough to put up a good fight, but still struggled against his power. Eraqus arrived and put an end to the conflict. He spoke stern words to Eita, but then had to go AFK for a moment (to take his medicine). During that time, Airi asked Eita why he was a PK, and after some conversation, she began to understand him. When Eraqus returned, Airi requested that Eraqus teach Eita like he teaches her, and after some persuasion (and private chats), he agreed. It didn't take long after that for Terra to chill out, and soon enough, he became a defender of the new players. In real life, he dreams of becoming a professional go player. Unfortunately, he doesn't have much time to practice because his father pressures him into focusing on kendo. Every Wednesday, he travels to Eraqus' home to play go with him and Eiri. (Daisuke comes, too, and plays DS in the background and steals cookies.) |

► daisuke hirukaze ► character: ventus ► class: twin blade ► age: 15 The youngest and last of the Disciples of Eraqus. Despite his young age and the short time he has played the World, he is still a very skilled player. It is said that he was born to play the game. Being something of a "gamer prodigy" also means that Daisuke has a dream of becoming a game designer in the future. He sees Airi and Eita as the elder siblings he never had. When he was young, his parents got divorced, and where Daisuke went with his mother, his fraternal twin brother, Akito Nagakage, went with his father. Daisuke originally started playing the World in order to get back in contact with his brother, whose character is named Vanitas. Though due to his brother's abrasive personality, they don't normally get along very well, this doesn't stop Daisuke from trying to reach out to him. |
► ????? ► character: eraqus ► class: blademaster ► age: ?? A legendary player who has played the game since Fragment. Not much is known about him, but from day one he played as a knight who helped other players. He took Airi, Eita, and Daisuke under his wing and is said to have taught them everything he knew, and shortly after he had to stop playing the World. No one knows why for sure, though there is a general assumption that his three "apprentices" have an idea about what happened. (Spoilers: He is an older player, and he had to stop playing for his health, as he has a heart condition. He keeps in contact with Airi, Eita, and Daisuke through email.) |

He tries his best to play party leader and everyone looks to him as such, since he's the best at taking charge of battles. He chose his character name because he feels he can relate strongly to the story of Icarus. |

► kairi kuroda ► character: lady jeanne ► class: heavy axeman ► age: 18 Best friend to Sora and Riku, and fraternal twin to Naminé. The party tank. The one most likely to charge into a fight headfirst. She chose her character name in reference to Jeanne d'Arc, partly to match with Sora's and partly because she hopes to evoke the heroine's inner strength. |
